A pretty mellow Christmas this year. The season started off with a trip to get the tree in early December. Apparently, it was a tough year for trees as the trees that normally would be ready this year would have been planted during the last recession and the word was that not as many trees were planted. We managed to score on our tree ($20), probably due to the 5 ft of branchless bottom and ungroomed nature of the tree. It was also over 20 ft tall. No problem for a man with a large chainsaw. It still didn't fit and we had to trim another 4 or so feet off the bottom after we got it home. They say necessity is the father of invention and it was true for us: we discovered the tree is much easier to trim from the stairs!

Bruce and I attended a Christmas show put on by Tony Starlight this year. We met up with some friends from Portland Ducks Unlimited chapter and enjoyed this fun show in Portland. We happened to be there the day the local news was there and since we had premium seats in the front, we were there in the quick pan of the audience. celebrating-a-tony-starlight-christmas

We opened presents on the 26th (those that had arrived) when we were all together again. As you can see, the girls have grown quite a bit since our last pictures. Jinx is in his prime and Lucky is now a sweet, stinky old girl.
