Mount Hood Loop

Bruce and I took advantage of some gorgeous weather today and drove a big loop around Mount Hood.

We stopped for lunch in Hood River and ate at a little Mexican restaurant. The tacos were good but the service was soooo slooow. It took 15 minutes to make 4 identical tacos and we had to ask 4 times to get a Margarita only to find that we had to use the tequila that came in a plastic bottle not the nice bottle of Herradura sitting on the shelf. The gal helping us behind the counter told us she was having a hard day. What, she's worked all of 2 hours? Smoke less pot honey.

After Hood River we took off south and up the mountain. I have many pictures of Mount Hood from the road. The big white peak as a backdrop against the green orchards and trees and blue sky is so majestic. We were so busy looking at the mountain, neither of us noticed the state trooper on the road (see pic below). Apparently, you CAN drive 65!

We stopped to stretch our legs at Timberline Lodge. It was so weird to see people in shorts and t-shirts walking past skiers with ski boots on.

When we got back into the heat, we stopped at one of our favorite pubs, the Stillhouse, for a pint, a pastie, some chips and bread pudding. So good!
